Phuong Q. Le
Hi there! Thanks for checking out my website.
I am a social psychologist who studies how people motivate themselves and others to obtain valued goals. My research examines how people effectively navigate obstacles during goal pursuit to provide actionable recommendations for leaders and policymakers to enhance motivation and performance. My work adopts a social cognitive approach and leverages advanced quantitative methodologies (e.g., mixed-effects modeling, natural language processing, computational modeling).
I am a Principal Researcher and Mindworks Chief Scientist at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. I was previously a postdoctoral researcher at University of Virginia Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, working with Dr. Abigail Scholer. I completed my M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology under the mentorship of Drs. Kentaro Fujita and Lisa Libby at The Ohio State University, and received my B.A. in Psychology and Social Sciences Interdisciplinary (International Studies) from SUNY Buffalo.
